Where did our classic rock music go in Cincinnati? Growing up in Cincinnati, OH was great. We had all the best rock and roll music performers come to our city and play concerts from the 1960's to until a few years ago. In the past few years, Cincinnati has hardly gotten any classic rock bands to come and play here. Very few and far between. These bands and these other venues outside the city say it is our venues and the high ticket prices our venues want to charge. I have heard this from too many sources now. Cincinnati seems lately to only get the very high priced shows that the average person cannot afford or of no interest in the acts that do come otherwise - no classic rock music. Eddie Money, John Waite, Great White, Toto, Shaw / Blades, and, Scrap Metal - all these bands would loved to played Cincinnati. They all told me so. This is only to name a few bands. They did well in venues in Indy, IN, Columbus,OH, and Kettering, OH to name a few bands and few cities and sold out. Also recently speaking to Kevin Chalfant (Storm, Shooting Star), Joe Lynn Turner (solo now, was Rainbow), Jimi J. & Jim P. (ex Survivor) , Night Ranger, Jeff Scott Soto (formerly of Journey), and Scrap Metal - headliner at the show (so many famous musicians in this new band - Kelly K, Eric M, Gunnar N, Matthew N, and Mark S with guest stars singing along also too) just to name a few who played at the Melodic Rock show in South Bend, IN on Oct. 6, 07 at the Morris Center and this show was put on by a journist - Andrew who runs the website melodicrock.com from AU. Andrew came all the way from AU to put on this great show for the US fans of this music. These groups are all putting out new music or have done so recently. These bands asked me to ask why Cincinnati venues couldn't bring them in to play here? And you really can't find their new cds in our local stores either, you have to order online. All these bands have stood the test of time. They sounded better then ever. All the bands that played in South Bend would love to play Cincinnati too. We need classic rock music back in Cincinnati. We also need it played on our radio stations. There is room for all types of music to be perform here. Cincinnati should ask themselves - why are these venues doing fine with these bands and their venues revenue in their cities. Riverbend had the lowest record lineup of concerts ever this year. I hope with their new smaller outdoor venue opening next spring, 08 that some of these acts will play there and at a fair price for a ticket. It is great that Sammy Hagar is coming to the Taft and at a fair ticket price. But I believe Sammy has more to do with that then anyone. Our Taft is very similar to the Morris Center - Morris is booked all the time with great concerts. They are 240 miles from Cincinnati. But, if they can do it at great prices why can't Cincinnati? Hall & Oates is touring for the xmas holiday - why are they not coming to Cincinnati?

Scrap Metal is one of the best rock bands you will ever hear, and one of the best times you will ever have at a concert. This is a must see show!
