The statement about large companies receiving a larger tax break over the lower class is not proper justification for them to cheat our system, and allow for the middle class to suffer. Especially since there would not be any available jobs for the lower class if it weren't for those "large companies", they would be further destitute. I don't see why you need to reitterate my political position considering that your suggestion is contrary to my beliefs, as I stated in my previous comment. I am a republican strictly for the reason why the party came into the political world; as a representation of the people by the people, with less government influence.

THERE ARE SOME BITTER FOLKS ON HERE TODAY! OUR FINANCES WOULD BE FINE IF YOU GOT OUT WHAT YOU PUT IN! IF YOU DON'T PAY TAXES YOU SHOULD NOT REAP THE BENEFITS LIKE A TAX PAYER. SAMMAY, YOU ARE DEFINITELY A REPUBLICAN BECAUSE ONLY THEY THINK RESTRICT MEDICAID MORE PROVIDE LESS TO THE SICK AND SHUT IN LET THE SHERATON PUT A COW ON THE FRONT LAWN AND FILE TAXES AS A FARM TO AVOID PAYING THEIR FAIR SHARE. THE BIG COMPANYS SHOULD PAY JUST LIKE THE LITTLE ONES. TAHT IS WHY THE LITTLE PEOPLE CHEAT THE COUNTRY BECAUSE FOREVER HAS THE COUNTRY BEEN ABUSING THEM.
  • politicalthreadz
IF OTHER COUNTRIES DON'T ASK FOR OUR HELP WHY CANT WE JUST MIND OUR OWN DEFICIT?!

ITS WONDERFUL THAT THE COUNTRY IS SO INVOLVED IN WHAT IS GOING ON IN POLITICS. I LOVE OBAMA HIS PLIGHT , CAUSE ANSD VISION FOR THE FUTURE. I RESPECT MCCAIN HIS SERVICE HONOR AND DILIGENCE. BUT I KNOW THAT MCCAIN HAS BEEN IN POLITICS FOR A LONG TIME SO HE HAS SOME STRONG TIES AND SUPPORTED SOME RIDICULOUS IDEAS AND HAS HAD A LOT TO SAY ABOUT SHAPING OUR COUNTRY SO HIS JUDGEMENT IS A LITTLE OFF SO OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT IT IS1

Out of all the disagreements that have been directed to my opinion in the state of this troubling government; Aaron you are the only one who has made some pretty value points... We are the most hated country simply because we have what most people envy, freedom. And despite the economic despairty of our current situation, we are still the most powerful and plentiful government in the world. People need to understand that no country's economy or political aspects are absolute and prosperous every moment throughout the life of that country. We are just currently at a trend where people have credited all that they can and due to the oil fluctuations and housing sector slowing down... People can no longer afford to take out additional mortgages to pay for useless material goods. Unfortunately these groups of people who feel that you are what you drive and feel the need to keep up with the jones's, have further progressed this country's economy in a recession... I hate politicians and they all suck, I believe that what's right for this country and foe the select citizens that work hard to support this country and its ideals that it stands for. I would stand that I am first and foremost a capitalist, and secondly a republican on the basis that the meaning of a republican is less government power and more representation from the people by the people. There's too much diluted scumbags in both parties, and surprisingly I would have rather seen hilary Clinton as president possibly over McCain, but definitely over stupid Obama, who has been biasly chosen as the mainstream medias "Presidential candidate". Unlike what the liberal media projects, most Americans do not support Obama, rather there is only a small percent lead of the public's preferrence towards McCain. For the world to prefer Obama over McCain is simply because republicans do not quest for the world's approval, that's one of the reasons why bush is not liked by many foreigners. Also the media is to blame for the strong favor to Obama internationally, I would bet that if a poll was taken over seas, that a majority of people would not know who the other candidate is running for president.

Nobody is saying that 'you' are personally racist for not liking obama, that would not be fair at all. The racist comment was only directed toward Lucy Goose's comments below and directed specifically at his bigotry. I feel that regardless of your creed or culture that you should follow who you feel is best... that's the beauty of our country.
  • hellbilly13
How is it right that because I'm anti-obama I'm a "racist"? I just don't see him as the best person to lead the country. If he is for you then thats fine. Come November we will see what the WHOLE country thinks.

Thank you Lucy Goose for proving that Racism is at best alive and well. Your blatent dislike for Mr. Obama based on his skin color proves your narrow view of the country and the world in general. Sammy, I have traveled the entirety of our 50 states (minus Alaska), spent several stints in western and eastern europe, traveled the south pacific and and have now lived in Australia for two years. You must understand that the world is increasinly shrinking and we as americans no longer control the wealth and power the world through. Times have changed, be it war or the economy and no longer can we act as if we can control the world. The global economy and advancements of other global leaders (militarily and economically) won't allow for it. We have strained relations internationally by opting to stay the traditional course set forth by the 80's Regen administration in stead of opening ourselves up to international discussions and the ever changing enviornment and globalization of the world. The current administration has done a great disservice to the average american. I'd be hard pressed to find a majority of middle class americans who could prove that they are better off finacially and that the country is better off economically, millitarily and that our borders and backyards or safer than before the 2000 election of GW Bush Administration. We need a leader who will listen to the will of the people and not one who will impose his will on the people. I'd be happy to vote for a republican canidate who represents that mentality... but I do not see a candidate like that. Mr. Obama is not only beloved nationally but I can say and prove that he is beloved internationally as well. As a people we are lumped into an unfortunate stigma attached to the elected leaders.... and now internationall America is one of the most hated countrys in the world and not just by radical terrorist organizations, but by citizens of western allies who feel betrayed by the American government... and unfortunatly I find myself having to dicuss at great length how the citizens are not the government and to rebuild individual trust image in us once again. I want a leader I don't have to make excuses for! Barack Obama is that leader for me. So I really hope that Lucy Goose, Sammy and anyone else out there can come up with something better than racist slander and right wing rhetoric to explain why I should think different. Thank you all for taking the time to read this.

I Hate How NObody has mentioned how obamas book is THE most RACIST piece of literary deification I have ever read, and i hope he gets whats coming to him for his outright disrespect to ALL americans. Although, mostly i loath him because he hates white people due to his misfortune at being born unable to EVER be White. What an impetuous shit he is!
  • sammay831
Alice I do not see why you criticize my vast vocabulary and experience that I have obtained from traveling the world, simply because on the basis that you possess such a minute selection. You are ignorant, much like everyone else who would support a larger government influence upon the citizens of our country. I feel sorry for you and I hope that someday you will succumb to your senses; in the mean time you are just a foolish little girl lost in her incomplete thoughts, and clouded by indecisiveness.

Canada is all for Mr. Obama. Anyone who doesn't think he's worth the time of day is either KKK or a black hater. He's the way forward for America, and he's going to pick up the pieces of the shattered economy left behind by Mr. Bush and the Iraq war. Mr. Obama actually seemed to care about NAFTA, which makes him all the more popular with Canada. And who, honestly, is going to want to have another Republican after the recent disaster in the guise of a Presidency. Sammy whatsyourface, you should be thoroughly emberrassed to even write Mr. Bush's name,as he has brought disgrace to your once great nation. Now whenever some thinks of America they think if it's president's incredible stupidity, which has translated into 4000 brave young men in a crate six feet under. There is absolutey no way to justify that sheer idiocy. An America divided within itself cannot stand.
  • AliceHenning
Sammy, your language is so un-impressive, if you did make a valid point, which you have not, no one would pay attention to it anyway. We had no business going into Iraq under the claim there were weapons of mass distruction. There were none. The people in Iraq, did not want us to "save them from a horrific dictator" Because of the lies our current president insisted be told our relations with several other countries has been damaged at best. As far as the other reasons I am no longer a Republican, I will keep that to myself. But I will say this, I would feel the same way no matter whether it was a Democrat or Republican or an Independant sitting in the white house right now. Yup, so people would call me a flip flopper, I don't care. I will never vote the party line just for the sake of doing it. That is just plain stupid, in my opinion. I will always vote for the candidate I believe will do the best job and do the most good for the USA as a whole. And I make that decision not on believing in rumors or smear tactics but by watching, researching and learning. I suggest you do the same before you shoot your filthy mouth off again.

Sworn into office January 4, 2005, Senator Obama is focused on promoting economic growth and bringing good paying jobs to Illinois. Obama serves on the important Environment and Public Works Committee, which oversees legislation and funding for the environment and public works projects throughout the country, including the national transportation bill. He also serves on the Veterans Affairs Committee where he is focused on investigating the disability pay discrepancies that have left thousands of Illinois veterans without the benefits they earned. During his seven years in the Illinois state Senate, Obama worked with both Democrats and Republicans to help working families get ahead by creating programs like the state Earned Income Tax Credit, which in three years provided over $100 million in tax cuts to families across the state. Obama also pushed through an expansion of early childhood education, and after a number of inmates on death row were found innocent, Senator Obama enlisted the support of law enforcement officials to draft legislation requiring the videotaping of interrogations and confessions in all capital cases.

Obama is especially proud of being a husband and father of two daughters, Malia, 8 and Sasha, 4. Obama and his wife, Michelle, married in 1992 and live on Chicago ’s South Side where they attend Trinity United Church of Christ.
